How to configure dCache 2.6 with IPv6

This page summarizes the steps taken to configure dCache server for IPv6 compatibility testing.

1. Install dCache and configure it following the documentation page in dCache.org

http://www.dcache.org/manuals/Book-2.6/index-fhs.shtml

2. Before start dCache service you need to do some changes in postgreSQL and dcache.defaults configuration

3. To enable postgreSQL IPv6 support you need to replace the line "listen_addresses = '*'" with  "listen_addresses = '::'" into the file /var/lib/pgsql/9.2/data/postgresql.conf and then start the postgreSQL service.

4. To enable dCache IPv6 support you need to add the following line in /etc/dcache/dcache.conf dcache.java.options.extra="-Djava.net.preferIPv4Stack=false" and then you can start the dCache service.
